Calling ALL Bloggers! Promote Lay Catholic Missionary Activity!
As you probably know, many lay Catholics feel uncomfortable and unfamiliar with the concept of evangelizing. When we see the desperate need for the Good News all over the world, it seems that we who have been blessed with the fullness of the truth in the Catholic Church really need to step up our game.
Join us and a growing group of bloggers who are responding to the Great Commission! Family Missions Company is hoping to raise awareness about the need for ALL Catholics to be missionary!
Bloggers on a Mission Campaign:
“Today, as never before, the Church has the opportunity of bringing the Gospel, by witness and word, to all people and nations. I see the dawning of a new missionary age, which will become a radiant day bearing an abundant harvest, if all Christians, and missionaries and young churches in particular, respond with generosity and holiness to the calls and challenges of our time.” – Pope John Paul II
Together we can reach the world with the Gospel! Let’s unite as Catholics in the blogosphere by raising awareness of foreign missions, “the holiest and greatest duty of the Church” (Ad Gentes, 29) and make this World Mission Sunday eternally significant!
As our beloved Pope Francis has reminded us that there is a “need for a more profound missionary formation of the whole People of God and by encouraging the Christian community to contribute to the spread of the Gospel in the world.” (Message for World Mission Day May 2013)
Here is what Family Missions Company is doing to make World Missions Sunday special. We will be hosting PROCLAIM 2013, our first ever Catholic missions conference, as an opportunity for the Church to celebrate its call to missions and and be equipped to become evangelists in the world today. (www.proclaim2013.com) Feel free to invite your readers to consider attending this conference as an opportunity to grow in missionary zeal.
FMC helps lay Catholic families and singles who feel the call to full-time missions to respond to the Great Commission all over the world. One thing that sets apart FMC from many other Catholic mission organizations is that our two primary tasks are service to the poor and explicit EVANGELIZATION. We believe that we need to bring people to the truth of Jesus and His Church, and our missionaries are doing it all over the world- presently in the Philippines, Ecuador, India, Mexico, and the United States!
